Next Friday Y4 are having an Egyptian Day as part of their humanities topic on Ancient Egyptians.
Funky Fresh Food Book 2 - hot off the press this week is the new school recipe book. With recipes from families, staff and from local businesses such as Barbican, Unicorn, Frosts, Out of the Blue, Croma and Tampopo, the book is packed with ideas for seasonal cooking and for growing and gathering your own ingredients. Buy it at the Winter Fair or ask for an order form at the school office.

It s now time for us to start thinking about the Y6 Residential for next years Y6 children. Letters have already gone out to all our Y5 children. Numbers are limited so please return the reply slip with the £20 deposit as soon as possible. A meeting for all parents/carers will be held on Tuesday 4th Dec at 3.45pm in Mr Gavin's classroom to discuss the trip.
Last year the children really enjoyed the panto and so we have asked the same company to come back this year and treat us to their performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. The performances will be on Wednesday 12th December - Year 1 and 2 AM / Foundation PM and Thursday 13th December Years 3 and 4 AM / Years 5 and 6 PM. The cost is £3 per child which will also go towards refreshments for the day. Please can you make this contribution by Friday 7th December. Thank you
Good Luck to the Y4 & 5 children who are taking part in the Young Voices Concert at the MEN Arena next Tuesday. They will join other school choirs from all over the North West to form one huge choir.
Y5 Victorian Day Tuesday 6th December - All children are to arrive at 9.00am prompt for hand inspection before classes start. Children who don't want to be caned must arrive in a clean costume and have a handkerchief! - We will be finding out about the British Empire and making porridge - please bring an orange to make a pomander.
A parent governor vacancy has come up and paperwork has gone out to each family regarding nominations.The deadline for nominations is Monday 3rd December. Please note that Family Choir singers need to meet in the Music Room at 12.00pm on Saturday prior to the Winter Fair for a quick rehearsal. 5LW trip to Trinity CLC will now take place on Monday 10th December.
