We want to increase the amount of sport that our pupils do. However we do not always have access to the Gymnasium as it is in constant use. We intend to utilise the outdoors and use the field or playground. This may mean that your child may become a little dirty and that trainers become muddy. We therefore need pupils to wear their sports kits as normal on PPA day but to bring their uniform on the day they do extra outdoors sport. Teachers will inform you of the dates extra clothing is required.
There will be a stall in the Dining Room from Monday12th to Thursday 15th November, to raise awareness of the schools responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act. During this time you will be able to watch short video clips, read leaflets about the act and talk to some of our governors about this important legislation. There will also be a special newsletter and links from our school website to raise awareness amongst parents and carers. For those parents who would like to find out more about this important area please go to www.diseed.org.uk. This will be followed by a consultation period from 16th to 23rd November when further information will be available.
If anyone has any outgrown uniform for children in Nursery or Key Stage 1 please can you bring it into school as we have very little emergency wear.
Next week Data Collection sheets will be sent out. It is important that all details on these sheets are checked, amended if necessary, and returned to the office. If all details are correct, please write Correct on the top of the sheet when you return it. Thank you.
Do you work for a big company like a Bank or Building Society that might help with raising school funds? Lots of businesses offer match funding and might be interested in matching what we make on a stall or raffle at the winter fair or other event. Some companies are happy to make a donation by providing products or services for auctions or raffles. If you think this is something you could help us with please contact Val on 718 3290 or 07773 497 967 or Alice on 881 4415 or 07792 866 007.
