Thank you for making our Harvest Assembly such a success. We were overwhelmed by your generosity once again. David Hinley from the Salvation Army was amazed by the volume of food donated. He only just managed to fit it all into his big people carrier. He asked us to extend the thanks of all the needy people in Manchester who will benefit from your help. Once again, thank you for your gifts.
There will be a book fair in the Infant Hall from Friday 28th October until Thursday 4th October at 8.30 to 9.00am and again at 3.30 to 4.00pm.
Parents will have notice the new bike store near the park and gates at the front of the school. This was made possible because of a travel plan grant that was successfully applied for by governor Richard Clark. We would like to thank him for his hard work which is benefiting all families.
Just a reminder that Year 5 are looking for any adults to help on their trip to the People's History Museum in the city centre on Tuesday 2nd October (5LW) and Thursday 4th October (5MW). We have asked for a contribution towards the trip cost of £10 per child.
Year 3 will be going on a walk down Beech Road as part of their humanities topic "Where we live". The walk will involve the children carrying out a survey of the amenities in the local area. The dates are 1st, 2nd and 4th October.
Don't forget that all Key Stage 2 children can buy a piece of fruit at break on a Friday for just 20p.
There are still some places available in COSH on the Teacher Training day, Wednesday 3rd October for £17 per child. Contact COSH on 881 0100 to book a place. Fitness Factory will be running a one day sports/play scheme to cover the training day as well. It will be run in the Gym 10.00am to 3.30pm (early and late drop offs available) The day will cost £13.00 per child - contact Sue Codling on 07708 065 430. Jeans for Genes - Friday 5th October - This year we are asking anyone who wants to, to bring in a contribution of at least 50p and wear anything denim. A parent governor vacancy has come up and paperwork is coming out to each family regarding nominations. Improvements to the fencing mentioned in the Newsletter of the 7th September are due to take place during the half-term break which means there will be no disruption for the children. We have had a great response to our article on the Breakfast Club Cafe and now have 21 children attending. If you are still interested, please contact the office for a form and return it to us a soon as possible before we fill up, although we will be taking a waiting list. The cost is just 50p a day or £2.50 for the week for both breakfast and childcare. Uniform will be sold by the office staff on Tuesday morning, all day Wednesday, and Thursday morning. This i to try and cut queues at the office peak times. Thank you for your cooperation.
